Utilizing his military
knowledge of weaponry, and his knowledge and stance on the controversial
issues that surround the war in Iraq and the threat of domestic
terrorism, he supports the intent of our forefathers when they drafted
the Constitution, specifically the 2nd amendment. Bracken has
delivered a riveting and powerful novel that addresses
the cost
of
freedom in the age of terror.
In his convincingly realistic novel, "Enemies Foreign and Domestic," Bracken delivers a thought-provoking storyline that demonstrates the danger that false acts of domestic terrorism could be conducted within the United States for the purpose of diminishing American freedom. Bracken shows how internal enemies of our Constitutional Republic could engineer bogus acts of domestic terrorism, which would be blamed on so-called rightwing militias and other "domestic terrorists," in an effort to turn the Patriot Act against loyal Americans. The desired end result would be to pit the citizens of our nation against our government, resulting in increasingly harsher federal controls, and an eventual loss of our birthright of freedom in the name of the War on Terror. At a time that when radical Islamist enemies are plotting increasingly deadly acts of terrorism within our borders, such restrictions on the right to keep and bear arms would leave Americans ever more defenseless in the face of this very real threat. With his background as a Navy SEAL and his keen interest in terrorism and national security, Bracken has a wealth of unique insights into what it takes for Americans to protect their families and their communities in "the age of terror." More about Matt Bracken Bracken left active duty at the end of 1983 as a Naval Lieutenant after completing his obligated military service, then remained on active reserve status through the remainder of the 1980s. He is a self-described adventurer and freedom addict who loves ocean sailing. After building a 48 foot steel sailing cutter of his own design, he has done extensive offshore cruising, including a 9,000 mile solo voyage from Panama to Guam. Bracken lives in the San Diego area with his wife and two children, and is currently working on a sequel to his first book, titled "Domestic Enemies." He is also in discussions with a LA producer who is considering the production of a feature film, using Bracken's first novel as a template.
