Article on Michael Jackson's biggest blunder
(TAMPA, FL) A noted author and forensic legal consultant on divorce,
and child custody and abuse issues, Dean Tong found himself falsely accused
of sexually abusing his preschool-age
daughter during a contentious divorce 20 years ago. After contesting the
charges, he was arrested on a capital felony charge and jailed. He was
barred from seeing his children for 14 months pending trial. The charges
were later
dismissed by the State of Florida.
All
too often husbands, fathers and close family friends see their families torn
apart, and their life turned upside down as result of unfounded
and false allegations
of child abuse
based on motive, method and opportunity.
In Dean Tong's case, he turned his pain into
purpose transforming the victim to victor in
becoming one of the nation's
leading experts on divorce, custody and false abuse allegations. His
personal experience, background in research, and
author status have enabled
Tong to act as strategist for
thousands of parents, attorneys and others in
41 states, in his role as a forensic legal consultant on family law
and criminal issues.
Having seen the seedy underbelly of divorce law, Tong decided to work to
reform the system that tore his life apart. He helps men, women and children
who wish to vindicate themselves, after being wrongly or maliciously accused
of physical or sexual abuse.
Tong has consulted with national and regional media on such high profile
cases as Michael Jackson, Jon Benet Ramsey, Elian Gonzalez and Woody Allen.
He also consulted on the high profile
Bridget Marks custody case in New York last year. He has appeared or been interviewed hundreds of times on radio and TV
news and talk programming, and
been quoted many times in major newspaper articles.
Dean Tong's comments on the Michael Jackson case
Tong has written three books. His most recent is still very popular
w
ith parents and attorneys, titled,
Elusive Innocence: Survival Guide for the Falsely
Accused.
In addition to his writing, Tong regularly speaks at conventions for
attorneys, family counselors and psychologists, and serves as an expert
witness in court.
His clients include lawyers, parents and childless men and women who seek advice on divorce-related issues. Among the issues on which Tong consults are parental alienation syndrome (PAS), sexual allegations in divorce (SAID), borderline personality disorder, false allegations of spousal abuse and other strategic deceptions employed by former spouses and divorce attorneys to gain an upper hand in legal negotiations. He's retained as consultant in the high-profile New York case of Bridget Marks, on the side of Bridget Marks. The case is currently on appeal.
In all of his work, Tong seeks to use scientific evidence and data to demonstrate the verifiable innocence of his clients. Tong firmly believes that those guilty of child abuse and violence as well as those who maliciously bring forth false allegations of abuse - should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. He will only consult with parties who agree to participate fully in scientifically valid testing to prove their innocence.
Tong now resides in Tampa Bay, FL, with his second wife. He holds a Bachelor's degree in biology and pre-medicine from Northeastern University and is a Master's candidate in child forensic studies at the university of Portsmouth and Leeds, England. And he's been retained to consult on protracted custody cases by parents and attorneys from 41 states.
